    Need help with microswitch wiring

Pins 1 & 2 are connected internally. So are 3 & 4. You can use either 1 or 2 and 3 or 4. When these switches are mounted on a PCB pins 1 & 2 usually connect to a single pad. Same for 3 & 4. We do this because these switches are very small and delicate. Yes, if it really is a NC switch the LED...

    Need help with microswitch wiring

Your physical pinout should look like this. It's typical for most miniature PCB switches. Chris

I'm not familiar with it but CC or Bob might be. I definitely know that CC is into Pics. Chris

    Need help with microswitch wiring

That's a Normally Closed Momentary Switch. I don't see how that can be unless your wiring the switch contacts across the LED. The switch should be wired in series with the LED and limiting resistor. Chris

Chemetron wirefeeder - trying to salvage dc motor speed control

I had to choose which one of your two threads to respond to. I chose this one because it contains what you want to re-purpose the motor for. It looks like the components for the motor control are as follows: Speed Control Block CR2 Relay (CR2 shown as circle is the coil) S1 (DPST) Switch...

    Mythbusters bridge resonate attempt

No, I'm not saying that. The active components of an RF LC oscillator can have their normal operating points pulled from a strong external signal. Chris

    Audio Resistance

No, it's not that simple. Have you considered repairing the original amp? Do you have a schematic for the new one so we can determine if the input Z can be easily increased to 100K? In lieu of neither of the above you would need something like this. Chris

    Mythbusters bridge resonate attempt

No, but the circuit "Q" will be the dominant factor of how well the resonant circuit rejects signals <> Fr. I'm not talking about an oscillator here because they can be pulled by a close proximity signal. Chris

    diode for collapsing magnetic field

I just took a peek at the schematic again. Too bad the components aren't numbered. It would make this post easier. As I see it there are multiple current paths that the coil's BEMF is going to find when the pressure switch opens. It will find its way to gnd through both 1n4001's, through a...

Kris, he has a diode in series with the coil. Did you see the last schematic he posted? Chris

    Heating Element?

Google, ain't that the truth. I can punch in a word at dictionary.com and have it return "Not Found". Yet Google, like you said, always seems properly reconstruct a butchered word. Chris

complete noob with electronics! help with basic motor control, please?

Actually, this would be the easiest to do. As Donkey said, a 555 'One Shot' should do fine. Chris

    Heating Element?

We have a spell check but I use ISpell for my browser. Regarding the herb issue: I'm not my brothers keeper and I regard the entire pot issue to be no different from the US's lame prohibition era. Al Capone and all that followed would never have amounted to more than a common street thugs if...

    diode for collapsing magnetic field

You must measure the coil voltage physically at the coil. This is to insure that you're measuring any possible voltage drop in either the 12V or ground leg, I would place the probes directly across the coil terminals. Are these crimped solderless terminals? Chris

    diode for collapsing magnetic field

See that statement in bold? One can't help but wonder if something happened causing the first failure after it had cycled, trouble free, for a few months. Hey, I could be chasing my tail but from a trouble shooting standpoint it's hard to ignore that statement. Chris

    Iphone Phone Jack trigger Relay

Provide a schematic,.. yes. Build it, ..no. Is this a constant tone? Does the relay have to latch? Are you certain that your 6V relays must be used? Chris

    diode for collapsing magnetic field

I realize that this is circumstantial evidence but Blank Stare said that the starter solenoid failed faster than any of the other relays. I thought that quite odd and really begged an explanation. When you consider that starter solenoids pull coil currents far greater than typical relays it does...
