    Heated Clothing Potentiometer Help

Pot won't work. Maybe has a rating of 1/8 to 1/4w at best. Teflon wire would need to be resistance wire. Battery too small at a guess. Won't last long at best. Smoking battery tray means you are headed for a disastrous ending. Things like this are designed from the bottom up, not the top down...

So as I said earlier, is there any useful info marked on the good unit?

I'd be surprised if there is not other damage as well with a blow up like that.

    Servo motors, using photoresister

Yes, Arduino needs to be programmed. Also the motor will need to be driven via mosfet, relay or similar. Possible to do without a microcontroller, however, the micro makes adding other features later much easier. Best to post copies of what you have so we can see and make an educated appraisal...

Need help to identify a component!

More likely an inductor ( choke) Thermistors rarely if ever are made to carry 1 amp or more as far as I know. There looks like another further over on the same board. If this one is cooked, perhaps the other has some info on it. Also might pay to look for any other apparent fault downstream from...

Need to use 2 proximity sensor on the same input.

Just wondering on the accuracy of these proximity switches for cnc work. Normally any cnc position detection is within fractions of a thou". I use slot detectors and nothing special to boot ( removed from old printers) which give 0.3 thou" repeatedly which is good enough for the application I...

    sunbeam electric blanket no heat

Good example of electronic control gone mad. I can remember when an electric blanket used 2 elements and simple 3 heat switching.

    Digital piano won't power ON

Granted however it does not seem practical to supply 56v to ground just to generate 24v and 5v . 36v you show could be taken from across converted A-B output in a 28v output.(ie Vcc+ and Vcc-) Very strange how you get double output (56v) to ground which is what one would expect across Vcc+ and...

    Crt tv image over sized

Think it depends on the PS1 or the programs being run. Maybe others at PS can elaborate further but I have seen similar output from this type of thing.

    Digital piano won't power ON

I've been following this post and right back in the beginning, output of the transformer on the drawing shows 20v ac and yet the Op shows 38v ac. Also his dc voltage readings on D3 (D5 by the way is the same place) is 56 v dc. Way to high. Just wondering if someone hasn't played with the input...

How do you verify your ohmeter works?

Don't know offhand who ya is but the pics are way out of focus. As far as the meter, ok, yes it's a form of multimeter. Do you have a specific question about it?

    Code light to pulse

Normally not but it depends what your led specs are. For example, if your led can be driven straight from a 12v supply , no extra driver needed. What does the supplier say about it?

    Digital piano won't power ON

Some of those readings you give are way off, bit like you are not measuring correctly. Are you sure you have a ground connection and you are on the right meter scale?

    Capacitor terminals

They are simply looping terminals for additional wiring. If you don't need them then forget about them.
