    The dash micro, if it is this particular model, is load dependant. I imagine Ducati were able to forsee the possibility of LEDs replacing the standard bulb and allowed for it in the programming. Have no idea what this actually involves but wondering if you have taken a peek on their forums...

    There is some info out there in Ducati forums saying the flash is determined by a dash micro. Apparently it can be reprogrammed or fit a 47R 10w resistor. Couple of other possibilities also.

    Help with relay powering soft-latch power switched inverter

    Perhaps try a 555 monostable module ( run off 12v supply) with relay output in which the voltage free contacts are connected across your existing push buttons. Do not know what these connections may be though with respect to your rj11 plug. Possible to open the remote and trace out the connections?

    To get watts in an AC system, one must apply power factor to the VA rating. I won't go into it any further as you can find the answers on a wiki search.

    Just be careful reflowing solder on the ic's. Mate of mine spent 3 days trying to resolder the legs of a chip on a PS2 during "mods". Turned out the manufacturer was a wake -up to mod chips being fitted and they made the original chip with "spring-up" legs. Rather difficult to resolder...

    Inrush current smps.

    For future reference, one can add a low ohm resistance for a few seconds to bypass the inrush effect. Had a similar problem with 15 Line isolation transformers in a hospital installation where the above cured the problem.

    I built one here for model aircraft wings which was just a 240v to 40v/200va transformer controlled by a dimmer on the primary. Many would say not a good match but it worked fine and I afterwards built a copy unit for Jabiru aircraft mob which is still used as far as I know. Didn't find it...
