    There are small dc permanent magnet gear motors on Ebay for around Aus$8.00. Maybe 20mm long and 14 wide x 10 high. 6v one should run ok on 3v. For xtra one can even get an encoder already fitted. Lovely stuff.... I saw a query for size earlier but no answer was forthcoming.

    Both are used, input and output DC and AC. DC isolators adjacent to the panels are also a requirement in many instances, depending on your location.

    Seems to me that if there is a mains input and a low voltage dc input that you have lost 2 leads. Have you gone back to where you bought the item and asked them? If a retail outlet I think they should be able to point you in the right direction.

    Moeller Schneider make a range of circuit breakers to suit solar installs. Most we have anything to do with are higher voltage and 6Ka rated but that would make no difference to your application. Most authorities require use of double pole breakers for the incoming dc off the panel.

    They run on high voltage and care should be taken using these outside of any casing otherwise you may just make more of a pretty light than you expect. A much safer alternative is the LED version. One can buy these from Ebay ( 2 strings and a driver) for around Aus$15.00.
