    As Duke says, you will get approx 8amp load out of each 100w auto headlight bulb. Current will change as voltage drops though. If it's a comparison reading over several discharge periods then time record would be fine so long as you drop out the discharge at a given voltage..

    Good chance that the negative sign (-) on the electrolytic capacitor will be the negative rail. It's the can looking device between D3 and R8. Nice clear photo of the reverse side of the board would help also.

    They are (in some countries....MEN) but they will get a voltage difference in many instances. To understand this I guess one has to be involved with the trade for many years. Depends on several conditions, a couple being poor neutral connections at point of entry (or other) or poor conductivity...
