Is it possible to use a stepper motor without a micro-processor ?

I used to recycle the boards out of an old floppy drive as they provided what is required. Then just add the step and direction signals. Bit hard to come by these days but surely a chip with the same properties exists.

Grounding Equipment in a Lamp post

I'd say get an electrician as it is clear you have little understanding of mains distribution systems.

    How to delay the relay

You don't need to delay anything. I'd say offhand you have a wiring error. Best to draw up exactly what you have and we can comment more accurately from there.

    Inductive load control

Many fan makers have done away with thyristor control years ago mainly because of the noise component. All simply use a 3 position switch these days. First position connects directly to the supply and the remaining positions switch one of two capacitors in series for lower speed. Values are...

12V switch in series with two 12V DC motors & 24V power supply. Is this ok?

Don't think much of your series motors idea, too many possible problems. Voltage does not run through the switch. When the switch is off, 24v appears across it and when it is on, zero volts across it.

    RC charging and discharging

Battery is backwards if you say that chassis is negative, otherwise ok if cap is non-polarised. Resistors from what I see form a voltage divider.

    How is this Possible

Maybe the strange looking diodes and cap is a voltage doubler but crystal ball is cloudy today

    One on-off switch for 2 circuits ?!

Neon lamp and resistor. One can get them from ebay already set up enclosed in their own casing. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/9mm-240v-Mains-Red-Neon-Indicator-With-200mm-Leads-/301337737695

    Delay off circuit

If you can say exactly what you require it would be a big help. For example " I need the circuit to put my switch to earth for 5 seconds then off again." means you need a standard 555 with a trigger. However this, "These will switch after 5 seconds but will not return to original state after...

    Soldering Recommendations

I agree with chopnhack. Those guns you refer to are just plain rubbish. Used one once as a matter of "have-to" and I can tell you with a 1 metre lead you can hurl them more than 50 metres. You need something with a decent head to hold heat. By the look of the boards you are soldering to, they...
