I like the gentle dropping-shaking-vibrating to dislodge deposits at bottom or draining/flushing the inside with the same drained acid in the hope of removing the unwanted sandy solids from it, and returning the filtered acid in. If that works and done immediately after the failure...

But I have a couple of doubts :
- If the 2Volt cell got shorted; considerable energy from the short circuit had to produce some heating/boiling/melting/deforming.
Why I have never witnessed that in batteries that got a cell shorted nor heard about it from others ?

- If a 2Volt cell gets shorted and any recovery action is not done in the next 24 hours; the cell will never recover its capability again.
So, what to do if a few days have passed since noticing the vehicle did not start because of a shorted cell ? I believe nothing will reverse the damage.

Remember seen decades ago overseas, bad cells of non-hermetic plastic top lead-acid car batteries being replaced in a rustic way to restore the battery to healthy performance, always successfully.
