could i replace the 74LS240 for the 74HCT240

Hi to all ive a question i need a replace for the integrated circuit cause in my town i cant find it.

he name of the ic is

74HCT240 and a provider said to me that the 74LS240 can replace it but i dont trust at all in his words can anybody help me???

Compare the datasheets.
The 74HCT240 is CMOS and Static Sensitive The 74LS240 has More Power Consumption.
The Pin-Out is the same and it may just work.

Thx men i can find the 74LS240 to replace it for the 74HCT240 thats the circuit i just need to find another replace for the MPF970 thx to you men good luck.
