musician and recording engineer.

Tai Poutini Politechnic's Audio Engineering course is well respected - the
most respected of all the various courses offered in NZ. The two tutors
previously had their own studios. I went down there to learn about audio
equipment and how to use it, and about direct-to-two-track recording, and
about direct-to-8channel-surround recording. I learned heaps about most
things except the direct to surround - they were sceptical about the
future of surround sound.

I am especially interested in Ambisonics and the Calrec Soundfield (and
similar) microphones.
