Hall Of Lame (or Evidence Of The Dunning-Kruger Effect)
For your amusement I present a collection of links to some humorously uninformed, arrogant and communication-impaired forum users that I have had the misfortune of encountering.
(For more information see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dunning-kruger_effect)
User schmidtbag having great difficulty following some basic instructions: https://www.electronicspoint.com/2m-ohm-resistors-not-resisting-t255069.html also discussed in https://www.electronicspoint.com/denser-than-osmium-t255075.html (To be fair, he did apologise; maybe he was just having a bad day.)
I explained to user Heeran the two reasons why his idea is a bad one, to save him from wasting his time, but he didn't want to hear that: https://www.electronicspoint.com/control-circuit-t255095.html#post1513523
User rh001 had a "legitimate business enquiry" about getting some code written. He didn't have a clear specification and got snarky when I and others tried to tell him why no one was interested. I made a counter-offer and he seemed interested. Then he disappeared. https://www.electronicspoint.com/wanted-super-simple-8-input-and-8-output-select-t256248.html
User tedstruk never fails to entertain. Some of his better work:
"A 250k pot is only capable of handling 250k of variation of signal. A 500k pot handles more bandwidth, actually double the response of the 250!": https://www.electronicspoint.com/raptor-vs-hackor-t243716.html#post1440557
"The LEDS that were originally made, were ISA protocol of 1a per bulb so you would need 10 amps of power to light 10 bulbs.": https://www.electronicspoint.com/10-watt-led-t244006.html#post1444713
"the caps attached to the CPU are charged at the factory.": https://www.electronicspoint.com/help-identify-capacitor-t255670.html#post1519117
"just ignore me... theorized this once!": https://www.electronicspoint.com/opamp-gbw-product-and-accuracy-t255781.html#post1519367
User mugatea who thinks that "the vast majority of electronics can work with with half the [supply] voltage if the amperage is increased to have the same power": https://www.electronicspoint.com/ca...two-cr2016-batteries-t253120.html#post1523230 also discussed in https://www.electronicspoint.com/mugatea-t256371.html
User charmquark was less than charming, and refused to post a link to the modules he was using: https://www.electronicspoint.com/pic-programming-and-spi-connections-t256578.html
User Youngfella (subsequently banned) arguing that you can power a standard hard disk from a USB port: https://www.electronicspoint.com/help-inverter-t256794.html#post1526397
These are only the users that I've been involved with. There must be others.
Moderators, if you think this post, or the whole idea, is unnecessarily nasty and insulting to these users, please feel free to delete or edit it.
