I went to QOTD to look up quotes with 'crazy' in them. It's rather
ironic this one pops up today:

Back to the original topic. What I like to do is take the wire from its' entry point to the house and run it down the INSIDE of the wall straight to either the Alarm panel of home distribution system. Not only does this help with security, it also removes those mugin fugly Network access boxes. Of course the telco and cable companies would have you believe this is illegal, strange, I have not found a single thing in the Canadian Electrical code which supports the telco and Cable companies claims.

Of course, there is also the issue of future upgrades to service such as Fiber. In this case, it would be a good idea to run a conduit from the cable entry point or attic to the alarm panel or home distribution can.
