Some LF353 opamps will not work when powered from a slightly used (heading towards 6V) 9V battery. The OPA134 Jfet-inputs opamp that I recommended works fine and also has much lower noise (hiss).
Your new "power source" schematic has different parts designations (is its R3 the old R41??) so it is confusing because maybe the new R3 must be 3M ohms.
