overcharging a ceramic cap

Do you know that as fact, or is it conjecture?

I'd be surprised if a ceramic cap could store enough energy to
explode. We're talking millijoules here.

They will very often be used directly accross power rails. I imagine
that once an arc forms, they could "explode". Many applications would
have many other capacitors in parallel, adding to the stored energy.

Ah, yes, a 10uF cap charged by 10uA.
