I currently use a free electronics simulator called Yenka, however Yenka does not always produce reliable results and there is no way to edit/ not enough types of certain components, e.g. photo-transistors can not be edited. I need a good all-round, paid (as free ones are unlikely to get better than Yenka) electronics simulator, preferably that has a free trial and costs under £20. Suggestions+links?

Under £20.00? Don't know of one that cheap. Tina from design soft do a student version limited to 100 nodes for a reasonable price. But beware the trial version is likley going to be the full version. You need to check out the options for each version.

I don't know Yenka, I use and can recommend LTSPICE. It is free and powerful. The libraries that come with LTSPICE are limited, but it is comparatively easy to add new elements. I have also placed a handful of useful tips for using LTSPICE in the ressources section of this forum.
There is also a free version of TINA tailored to Texas Instruments components avaliable here.
