If a multi-layered device has a missing component, and you are capable of understanding the entire device and what it does, what are the chances of finding out what the device does, and bypassing or manufacturing something that will work?
My smart kegger fridge of course is missing something. I know that one connector has 2 pins and has purple and skyblue wires(2 on each pin) going into it. The other has orange, pink, gray and black going to it in the same configuration.
I would assume that the 2 pin connector is a switch or pass through of some kind and the other is the power/ ground and signal from(or too, to or two) the device. But where I am getting mixed up is in the double ended connections that everyone uses nowdays instead of terminators.... :DSee back in the day, everything was signal, except for the terminals... and a terminator was required anywhere you didn't have a connection. (use all the pins, never leave a wire sticking out kind of a deal) yer tern wiseass!

Depends on your skill set - as ever .

Given there is more than one way to skin a cat, applying a different solution to a given problem offers endless opportunity but equally shows that there is no 'right' way nor any chance that anyone other than the observer can make that decision.

In your case the best approach would be to trace the wires back to where ever and try to derive a schematic. The wires being colour coded will make this easier but never less than a time consuming exercise. Then again, it's a fairly common device i.e. a refrigerator and many others will have similar arrangements so researching wiring diagrams for typical devices might be a place to start?
