I have a question concerning the use of replacement circuit transistors--
I know the Emitter-Base-Collector types
I know that G-is gate - S-is ource and D-is drain
I should also know that
G is gate I think, but what is A and K?
Can a GDS of lower voltage rating be used in place of a GAK if you don't have a GAK of the right specs?
I found a bad GAK in the organ leslie driver.
They are 25 bucks a whop.

Mah' fren . . . .and you are mah' fren . . . . . .

You have done went and founds yerselfs a SCR, with its Anode Cathode and Gate elements .
Organ- i-cally speaking . . . . . now refer to :
https://ssl.tonewheelgeneral.com/build_page.php?category=Components&subcat=Semiconductors

And you will then be having to scroll on down to the very next to last item from the bottom.
They are hustling a generic replacement, but can you supply the original manufacturers part units numbering ? . . . . . as for $ 25, you are paying full list price PLUS licensing fees and road use tax.

Pee Ess . . .they is only being one " l " in . . . . (sic) "Ell Whopperino slaperbratsky....viz . . El Whopperino slaperbratsky ( sometimes aka . . . slaperinski)

I have a job that requires a truck with a gate.

My house has a fence with a gate in it.

Can I use my fence as a replacement for a truck?

No, but under certain conditions, you can use your truck as a replacement for a fence.

Or the fence as a replacement for the gate... ahem

...so the generic SC141D I got from the parts house is an NPN transistor of the same number as the thyristor from decades ago...and my chinese meter... says its different from the thyristor I need, so I am kind of worried about using it, in the fact that the thyristor has a diode in the K - line of Emmiter, and the NPN has no diode in the line just a gate driven diode-switch in the junction of the triac.

I have a solution but I don't think your going to like it much.

here are 3 pictures to consider...

The correct solution is to replace like with like.

Don't give in to a fantasy world where you can substitute parts with random selections.
