stuee
I have a 7 bar ir lamp about 5cm|X30cm unit, its rated at 400w/230v how would be the safest way to connect it to the mains using a plug and a inline switch, also i want it fused too. Thanks
audioguru
Hi Stuee,Just hook-up that heat-lamp then stay away from it.It will "cook" you and give a nasty sunburn.
ante
You can use a 3A fuse if your socket is unfused.

ante
I should work with a triac circuit to control it I think.
ante
Audioguru,BTW. I believe it is UV light not IR that gives you tan??
audioguru
Hi Ante,You are correct, UV gives a tan. But maybe burns you too.The intense heat from a IR lamp definately will burn you, and dry paint too.Yeah, an ordinary light dimmer will control its heat.
