kensoft
Hi,I am new to this forum and pretty new to the electronics world. I came across a bagful of 16-pin DIP marked with the following ...NEC Japan 8227EK213 D4164CNEC Japan 8414D5020 D4164C-3NEC Japan 8350DD122 D416C-2On the exterior of the bag is labelled with marker pen SCR (Silicon Controlled Rectifier)?Does anyone have any idea what these chips are? I have search NEC's site and all of google's results, but can't seem to find any relationships to SCRs.TIA.Kenneth
Staigen
Hi there Kensoft, velcome to the forum :)I belive the chips are 4164 dynamic ram memorys, if i remember right it is 64 Kbit chips, but i'm not shure, they are rather old today :(!//Staigen
kensoft
Hi Staigen,You could be right. I wondered how the "SCR" came about. The SCRs that I see in a Google Image search do not appear in DIP packaging.Since the 4164s are 1-bit wide DRAMs, I don't think I can find much use for them. I will probably wire one up to a PIC to see if they really are 4164s.Thanks
