Staigen
Hiyou are not able to answer this questionHehe, so i am not able to answer this question, heheheheBut, there are 3 projects dealing with amplifying signals in the 86-108Mhz range at the RFCirquits Projects side. One of them try to amplify these signals, using miller integrators, andi dont think that is a good design.leave it manOk, i leave it, but it is not a promisedont worryIm not worriedgive chance to others to give the answersI belive everyone is allowed to post in every topic, and usally also are wlecomethese simple questionsSimple? We dont even know wich of the amplifiers we shall discuss//Staigen
audioguru
Is 86-108MHz the "frequency of catering" for the project?

sssaaa
HERE IS THE LINK OF VHF AMPLIFIER.http://www.electronics-lab.com/projects/rf/009/index.htmlI M USING IT FOR FM RADIO DIXING IT WILL WORK OR NOT?
Staigen
HiIT WILL WORK OR NOT?Its not that simple, the question can't be answered that easy.It might work or it might not work! What is your antenna for instance? And how far is the radio stations? The power they transmit at? Your topology?Nothing can stand up against a good antenna arangement! You should start there, if you dont already have done that. The amplifier you linked to is the one that have the miller integrators.I belive the other two is better, but i am not sure.//Staigen
sssaaa
thanks staigenu know any link of any other good vhf amplifier for FM DXing?
SM2GXN
Hi sssaaa! As Staigen correctly stated, a good antenna for the band to cover is the best way to start.A good advice is, make som kind of rotatable antenna and add an RF-amp for weak signals that is just above the noise level. SM2GXN
If your wish is to start by building an RF-amp check the attached PDF-fileVHF-UHF_Amp.pdf
Staigen
HiCan you describe your antenna and topography?Isn't the other two good enough? Here are the links:http://www.electronics-lab.com/projects/rf/003/index.htmlhttp://www.electronics-lab.com/projects/rf/022/index.htmlAnd you got one from SM2GXNHey SM2GXN, what do you think of using miller integrators as VHF amplifiers? You, if anybody should know about this!//Staigen
sssaaa
hi staigeni m using yagi tv antenna.Hey SM2GXN, yours pdf file is not opening in my computer. you have any web link of this file?
Staigen
Hii m using yagi tv antennaA TV antenna is not tuned to the FM band, and is not very good for DX-ingat FM! Was the other two amplifiers not good enough for amplifying the signal?Hey SM2GXN, yours pdf file is not opening in my computerIt opened nice here, its an article from an australian mag, with an antenna amp.Do you have Acrobat Reader installed?//Staigen
sssaaa
Was the other two amplifiers not good enough for amplifying the signal? i didnt check the other two amplifiers.but i also check this http://www.uoguelph.ca/~antoon/circ/activefm.htmlbut not with 2570 transistor because it is not avaible here i use 2N5179.and i use telescope antenna for this circuit.this circuit is also not working. Is this circuit is correct?Do you have Acrobat Reader installed?yes i have
Staigen
HiIsn't that one similar to one of the amps here on this site? You cant use a simple telescope antenna for DX-ing!The circuit seems to be a working circuit, but aso check thecirquit, that is similar, here at E-Lab.And use a good antenna, else you won't be hearing anything!//Staigen
