MyzDy19 Posted July 6, 2010 Report Posted July 6, 2010 We have a wireless cam and it has a range of 10m; now our panelists told us that we should double it's range. In addition, we are not allowed to purchase a cam with 20m range. So what device should I use to do that (make 10m range to 20m range) ??? pyrohaz Posted July 6, 2010 Report Posted July 6, 2010 Hey, do you know the transmitting frequency of the camera? (Probably 2.4ghz?)If so, you could probably use two directional antennas. Take a look at this article :)http://scitoys.com/board/messages/9/2306.html?1151588641 Quote
Hero999 Posted July 6, 2010 Report Posted July 6, 2010 That's right. You need four times the amount of power to transmit over twice the distance or use a more directional aerial and sacrifice the ability of being able to receive from all directions. You need to provide more information, if you've no idea of what frequency they operate on you've got no chance of doing it. Quote

But, at the back of the box of wcI can see these:Scan Frequency: PAL/CCIR:50HZ NTSC/EIA:60HZOutput Power:50mW/250mW/300mWFrequency Control:0.9G/1.2GPower Consumption:<= 400mWI guess the fq of the tx is the .9G/1.2G???My groupmate is the one who told me that the wc is only 10m because he tested it.Anyway, I visited the link...and it's good :)We will try to do that ^^ Quote

Hero999 Posted July 7, 2010 Report Posted July 7, 2010 That site doesn't give any information about the camera.Have you asked the seller? That's probably the best place to start. Quote
