    Battery charger/battery type NMH

Plenty of simple circuits out there on the web for charging NimH using a basic LM317 regulator as a constant current device. You will require a power supply with an output voltage greater than the battery you are trying to charge though. Then again there are ways around this by using a small...

Pedestal fan stopped working - capacitor issue ?

As you have a multimeter, check for a circuit across the fan plug pins to start with. Does the fan have 3 buttons for speed control? Not uncommon for the flex wire to break where the fan oscillates so start at the plug and work your way through.

Need Help with simple 9V circuit design.

When most refer to 9v, they are talking smoke alarm battery which is not suitable for driving motors other than those extremely small.

Some players have trouble reading "burnt cd's from a pc burner".

Pedestal fan stopped working - capacitor issue ?

Being such a small low torque motor you may not hear any unusual "buzzing sound". 99% of the time it's the bearings dried out so look at that first. Save your mucking around bridging out capacitors which will do nothing only make matters worse. Cap is required to give rotational force. Most...

    Adjustable Power Supply Question

My thoughts as well, however, in wiring , care must be taken to ensure the Op doesn't end up with a dead short when the pots are screwed full one way.

Pedestal fan stopped working - capacitor issue ?

The bearings usually jam up with dried out oil and gunk. Fix is to dismantle and clean the shaft, back and front, reoil the bearing wick pads and reassemble. Shaft should rotate really free so try before powering up.

    Adjustable Power Supply Question

Don't know why you would not "like" a multiturn pot. Perhaps the cost has put you off. Your circuit is not using adjustable controls on the 100K and does not look correct. Regardless, (without any circuit diagram to refer to) I'd imagine each pot would need to be in series with separate outputs.

Safety of battery components with generator

For the convenience of others, it is best to post any photos here rather than in links where one has to search other sites. Your circuit diagram doesn't make sense as it has two battery supplies with their negatives tied together and a circuit breaker across the two positives which would only...

Safety of battery components with generator

I think you really need to provide a circuit diagram of what you have to avoid any confusion. The battery post terminals might be ok as the battery terminal itself is lead, but where it might let you down is how you connect to that particular terminal. As it stands it looks like just the one...

    Simple circut

Yes I was fully aware of that but thought you would be able to sort it for yourself. One could simply use a normally open momentary contact push button in the buzzer circuit also to operate as a "push-to-test."

My Li-Ion Battery Charger Circuit Is Not Working As Expected

Would be a good start to show what YOU have connected, a circuit, some photos rather than an extract from another source.

    Simple circut

Fit a 12v AC relay across the supply. Connect the buzzer to the normally closed contacts. When the voltage drops due to the short, the relay drops and turns on the buzzer. Naturally you would need another supply for the buzzer. If AC relay hard to find, fit a bridge rectifier to just the relay...

adding a start capacitor to a circuit

Mostly the compressors never start against high back pressure unless of course the unit is switched off while running and then switched back on again before the pressure equalises. Even then, the motor overload/overtemp cut out kicks in due to the locked rotor current. What you REALLY need to...

adding a start capacitor to a circuit

A capacitor will do nothing to reduce start current. The purpose in compressors and the like with the split phase motor is to pull (electrically) the start winding closer to the (again electrical) 90 degrees out of phase to add startup torque. It might be possible for you to apply a current...

45 amp Battery looking to prevent arc flash.

You cannot prevent arc flash only limit the effects.....depends what load current you are looking at as to whether or not any arc barrier contactor or solid state switcher is necessary.

Looks like that varistor over on the right hand side has either been physically damaged or errupted under some fault.(3101) Sure looks old......:) Switcher IC can sometimes go open but it doesn't seem to have had much heat around it. Wonder why the screw was missing..?? maybe the mosfet has...
