    Laser

Bypass the on-off switch. Maybe a set of these. No idea what the range is but I'm guessing maybe a metre or so given the restrictions on laser power in hobby or whatever.

Led blinking instead of staying solid

There are LED's which flash without any extra circuitry. Not a good practice to use an LED without any current limit resistor unless one knows the specs as it could be irreversibly damaged.

Best course of action for high current DC supply

With the lastest details I forsee a big bang. How does "your generation" handle them apples.

    Fluorescent lamp

Well it's not working so something is different. Crystal ball needs new batteries here. Photos, schematics etc. etc....??

    Spaghetti Engineering pcb

No details but that aside, manufacturers have every right to protect their invested time and effort.

    Fluorescent lamp

Some of these units used the "switch" as a starter and may have been a special type of switch. Or you may have reconnected it incorrectly if you have the correct replacement.

Best course of action for high current DC supply

Someone on "your team" needs a new calculator. Appears the expectation of the output possibilities is way over the moon. Just as an example, 12P @280A = 23A per cell. 10% of that would be pushing a genuine 18650 and even then, perhaps for a fraction of an hour and that is in an ideal world. Cell...

    Strong slide switch

Your requirement is not normally a part of any switch spec. I have ever seen. I'd say it would be a "hands on" requirement, visit a switch supplier and try each one. You don't say how many poles or how many switch positions.

    Charging a V-mount battery 2A, what charger?

Seems to me like the maximum output current you can take from all outlets combined at any one time.

    Accelerometers for accurately indicating position?

Touch DRO uses encoder scales such as glass scales and others. I think your understanding of how it works might be about 10 miles left of centre.

CHARGING OF EVIL FUTABA BATTERY PACK

Would have to be literally millions of the Plug Pack Futaba Tx/Rx chargers around r/c aircraft flyers you could pick up for a couple of bucks. Plus 2 for the Eneloop AA.

isolating transformer and variac - what order?

One canefire, bushfire or simply a small motor vehicle would make that pretty insignificant. Other considerations are the dust to dust factor and hidden costs. While an LED light may use less energy over it's lifespan, I have yet to see an LED last anywhere near that of an everyday fluro tube...

isolating transformer and variac - what order?

Nope...been gone from here at least 10 years now in Aus. Bit of a joke really when it was introduced. Contractor mate of mine attended some convention where a bulb maker from Hungary was in attendance. My mate mentioned the "then" upcoming ban on incandescent bulbs and the Hungarian replied "...

Air compressor runs for a few senconds

I looked for Fluke 87 multimeter and although there may well be variants, I did not see any with capacitor testing facility. Best to show a photo of your test gear at the time. The tank valve can be a ball and spring or a spring loaded rubber disc. It operates when compressor feeds pressure...

Air compressor runs for a few senconds

How were the caps tested..?? "AS far as you know" is not a method for confirming the correct motor connections. Might be a good move for you to Google just how an unloader valve works as there are a few parts to it not "just a valve".

Air compressor runs for a few senconds

Switching on and off is not a good way to go. Noticed motor is a dual voltage motor....connections haven't been altered in any way..? Usually start problems are related to faulty capacitors .......... or the unloader valve not operating correctly if at all........ I'd go for the latter Not...

    Hotsprings Jetsetter Power PCB identification

Should be signs of that somewhere I'd imagine.(black soot, burnt component, blown pcb track) Did the "bang" come from the board area or other location..??

    Comedy Thread

Curious whether instructions are translated by Chinese who have learned English, or by English who have learned Chinese and just think to hell with it, it's only a $30.00 product. o_Oo_O Most is able to be followed but some is simply a joke. I'm a bit the same when I try to follow the wife's...
