    Recommendation for a noob.

Main Arduino forum, although full of very experienced people, they will guide you and advise but will not write programs for you. Sometimes they can be a little abrupt so one has to have a bit of a thick skin in that respect. Video tutorials are all over, some good, many rubbish. This is one of...

    Recommendation for a noob.

I've done both and tend to stick to Arduino. I've found Mplab tends to screw with one's head but I'm sure if it was explained it would seem fairly straight forward. Thing is I like to get on with the job at hand rather than being shovelled off on a tangent for days at a time. Plenty of programs...

    Ripped off? We shall see!

Hard to say which way that will go but obviously incorrect. Below is the same scope listing in Aus from Hong Kong at just under AU$1,000.00. Looking at your listing and comparing the price to here, I'd say someone put the decimal point in the wrong place. You could be lucky if UK law is similar...

Where to find 4" 16 ohm speaker?

    Breadboard lead size

Not sure, but it is certainly going down the tube. Might have something to do with the fact that Aus. gov decided to impose their 10% gst on ALL imports. Previously it was only on items over $900.00 value. Who knows the cause, only know the effect.

    Breadboard lead size

Yes, find that a lot with gear within the States. Searched all over for reasonably priced enamelled copper wire with the same outcome. Same for RC model building materials. Seems to be getting worse here as the years go by downunder.

12 volt led driver on pir timer powered via trailing edge dimmer switch

So will the dimmer operate the light correctly without the pir unit...?

When replacing battery in a pack

Good advice...problem is how does one know to begin with. Price may not be an indicator. So I'm guessing ....buy local...forget Ebay?

12 volt led driver on pir timer powered via trailing edge dimmer switch

Dimmer will have to be , as you rightly showed to begin with, after the pir relay. Thing is, there are many different pir devices. Some are 2 wire which I doubt will work. Whereas others are output relay driven which should be fine. Assuming here that the dimmer is suitable for LED's and also...

    Ceiling fan headache

Here's the problem. You can see what you have in front of you. We cannot.

    Ceiling fan headache

I doubt that, There are many connections you could make and do some damage. Fair enough you have a 3 active position with off position by the switch you show but sadly McGyver's methods of coloured wires don't work in reality. Normally an active feeds a common terminal with capacitor tappings...

Help with a 240v time delay relay setup

Timer is no good. If the pump cuts in and only runs for say 1 minute, then you have a timer running the pump dry for the remainder. Loss of pressure or detection of flow is only way.

    Casio Privia 150 no power

No one ever told you not to plug thing in to wall sockets with the switch on..? This is good example why, could have been a much more serious outcome. I'd be getting someone qualified in to replace the wall socket. Sparks, smoke, not a good sign, especially for the future use.

Help with a 240v time delay relay setup

This is exactly why we need all the info otherwise we are just guessing. Loss of prime is actually a pressure switch arrangement used to detect broken feed water lines so your comment about it not being suitable is incorrect. What does make it more complex is this the pumping is a pressure call...

    Ceiling fan headache

Show the switch. Normally they are a 3 position speed with a fourth being off. Centre pole is normally the mains active feed with the other 3 being low speed cap connection (2.5uF) next speed up connection (1.8uF) and finally high speed which is the common of the multicap and the motor...

    Breadboard lead size

Breadboards are primarily for experimenting not for any sort of long term arrangement. As far as current, certainly not for anything more than signal level. Like Dave9 I have used strands from 1.5sq mm mains lighting cable scraps or earth wire. Can you drop a link to that $2.00 a roll 22awg...

Help with a 240v time delay relay setup

Usual arrangement for this type of protection is to look at "loss of prime". Is the pump "start" operated manually or automatic...? When you say the "line broke" is that the water supply suction line..?

Why is the bottom right buttons on my calculator not working?

This can in many cases, remove the all important conductive coating.

    Hard to find replacement part.

Tried that once with a $400.00 Fuji camera, simply would not work. Old s/h Canon "pocket" 2Meg camera gave similar results as you show.

This tinned copper wire usually comes in 500g rolls and it might surprise you to know how much it costs.
