    PWM setup

mmm...haven't seen 2v ..3w leds Can you post a link to where you acquired them? I have seen 9-12v...sure it's not that?

    Microcontroller LED project.

To use the Attiny you will have to re-write the code to suit. As you already noted though, not enough pins for the above. If you want to drive larger than 20mA per pin, use a logic level mosfet on each pin and drive the load from the battery, still using the resistors on the leds of course. Or...

    Measuring Current using Resistor

Usual to use a 1 ohm resistor in series with the circuit and measure the voltage drop across it. By ohms law this voltage drop just happens to be the current reading. e.g.......... E (measured by meter) = I (0.02A ) * R ( 1.0 ohm) = 0.02V and for the other end of the range and everything in...

    Motor Control project

I would not imagine it to be much more than AC line in, motor 3 phase out, a forward / reverse switch and a pot for speed. Along with any protection devices necessary. Do you have a manual or any other photos..... terminal strip...wiring chart.....innards view..??

Simple DC Motor setup - NEWBIE HELP!!!

Why would that be a problem...simply bridge out the timer and add a two bob external one for $10, set for days. Cement mixer then...:):) Just no pleasing some....

Simple DC Motor setup - NEWBIE HELP!!!

Bit like a tumble dryer. In fact, why not use one of them...everything already set up. Some have stainless steel tumblers. Would handle 4kg no worries. As far as duty cycle goes, no worries. I've seen some that go for days non-stop.

    Transistors, Triacs, and Thyristors

I'd say whether it is gated by the ac supply it is switching or some other "isolated" supply. Since you don't say just how you achieved this, then not much anyone can say either way. Don't you have Google...??

    Programming languages and MC selection.

Go for Arduino. Couple of clone boards to keep cost low and some sensor modules. You won't look back and if you want to advance with C later then great as Arduino is built around this. IDE is free as is most of any software you can access. Assistance is available through the home site forum with...

    Subaru Forester remote

Apparently some bloke set his tv in the menu to uhf, hit the key fob button, then the tune auto button on the tv and looked for "anything". There are also ideas floating around using Arduino and one of the small 433Mhz receivers to switch a couple of LEDs. Might give it a go tomorrow if i get a...

    Reverse bench grinder

All I have ever seen seem to take the punishment over who knows how many years from people insisting on grinding down oversize chunks of steel on the side of the wheels...:eek: Ball bearings fitted are rather large and yes, will take the pounding. Weight of the rotor in a standard drill...

Replacement for .5 MFD / 300 VDC Capacitor

The cap and the resistor are there for a purpose. The cap stops or limits rf noise emitting and more importantly the resistor help eliminating the sparking across the speed control points. As you found, without this, the points will quickly erode away and the control will become useless. As a...
