    Micro Spot Welder

Hi rfranzk, It’s good to know that you didn’t zap yourself experimenting with your spot welder! ;D  Yes, some pictures would be interesting and I also like to know about your choice of caps and for instance the recharge time and current for such caps.  ;)

How to make an audio console's power supply better?

Hi Nid, Well, shit happens and it’s not a big deal. ;D The output from the regulators are not suppose to change their voltage when loaded, at least not if you measure right at the output. If you measure at the other end of the wires (load end) the voltage might change some under load due to...

    Wind power generator project

Hi nitro, Welcome to our forum. MP, Alun, With the Savonius wind turbine I used there is no need to turn in and out of wind, that’s the reason I chose this type of turbine. This is the first hit of over 300 on a Google search for “Savonius wind turbine “...

How to make an audio console's power supply better?

Hi Nid, (I feel it’s better than calling someone Dead) ;D Welcome to our forum. I like to see the schematic first, and then it is easier to suggest which parts to check and which should be changed.  It’s ok to use caps with higher voltage rating (definitely not lower rated) and yes, Jamicon...

    Help with IR motion sensor

Hi jack, What would be the point of integrating the two circuits? What would you use it for then?

    thyristors in series

Hi Alun, So you consider this an acceptable circuit solution instead of using a single thyristor with the correct ratings then?

    thyristors in series

Hi prateeksikka, Because when the first thyristor turns on, all the voltage is present over the second one. 8)

    GO BEARS!!!!!!

I don’t like football very much and I hate what it brings to the arenas. “Supporters” with single cell brains that got there for one purpose only, get badly drunk and start trouble and then destroy all that comes in there way! >:( The only kind of football for real men is the Aussie kind...

    Electronically controlled 12V 75W lamp

Hi Simian, Welcome to our forum, You need a PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) circuit; this will solve the control and soft start part of your project. Search for PWM here in the forum and in Google, you will get plenty of circuits to choose from. The voltage monitor (battery monitor) is another...

    thyristors in series

Hi alex, Yes, I thought you meant just that. I still say the explanation is valid for such a scenario. Bottom line: It won’t work properly. So, why not just use one single thyristor with high enough voltage rating or maybe the voltage is extremely high and no such thyristor exists? 8)

Hi Mike, I have got a circuit which will work for a Mercury Cougar, but I am sure you can use it for your T-Bird. After all, a Ford is a Ford! ;D

    thyristors in series

Hi alex, You can’t use thyristors in series to increse the voltage rating. It is not possible to get accurate enough trigging for a reliable circuit. It might work if the two thyristors where made on the same chip (substrate) with a common gate and shearing the same temperature but it’s simpler...
