Need help for value of resistor

Bob, can you elaborate on this? I always thought the inductive voltage spike was multiple times higher, depend on the inductor size, the load it sees when turned off vs time. So, If the 1n007 responded to the back emf within a few ms, wouldn't the voltage at the relay coil still be...

    Treadmill Controller Varistor blown

Sounds promising. You can briefly test it without the heat sink but only for a few seconds. I would set motor speed as low as possible to minimum load, and check that hooking up without heat sink isn't going to eliminating a ground path. It's best to always use fresh thermal paste but if theres...

    Treadmill Controller Varistor blown

You can check diodes by unsoldering just one leg at a time instead of removing completely. They usually fail short or open circuit. Another common failure are photo couplers like that cosmo1010. It may take some time to diagnose the problem. Some clear pictures of the board would be helpful.

    Treadmill Controller Varistor blown

I would hold off placing any orders for parts until you have evaluated the whole circuit. You might replace a part only to have a nearby bad part cause it to fail again. Also, shipping costs are high so its wise to order all parts at once. I would check all diodes and transistors before...

I need a electronic circuts for 2 v dc to 5 volt3 ampere out put

Does your load actually need 3 amps? Sometimes a device lists input power requirements higher than what is actually needed.

I'd start by verifying your power rails. Do you have 12v + and 12v- with respect to ground? Identifying unmarked components is challenging, but you can start by unsoldering them and test them to see if they are working. Hopefully they are ok. You can also google "how to test transistors". Its...

Sterilizer water pump 115 VAC with one probe

As for weird voltages, I would make sure you trust the readings you have before delving in too deep. Try another true rms meter for comparison. As to power supply, idk if it has thermistors or not. If you suspect it's a problem, why not just test it? Test its output voltage open circuit, and...

Sterilizer water pump 115 VAC with one probe

I thought that too at first glance. Yes, It looks like a 12v power supply. If you verified that the components aren't getting power, you need to trace it back to see what and where its supplied. Perhaps a triac?

Sterilizer water pump 115 VAC with one probe

You are reading leakage current of an open circuit via capacitive coupling. Some call it a ghost voltage. This happens using a sensitive (high impedance) meter that reads voltages at very low currents. Line voltages measured with a loaded meter (low impedance) such as a solenoid tester (wiggy)...

    Kodak Carousel 760H Projector

I'd try a local camera shop. You could also just buy another one (used) from a place like ebay. It might cost about the same amount.

    LED Light Fading Problem

Have you tried lightly pushing on the lcd glass to see if segments changed? Often connections weaken or oxidize behind the lcd display or ribbon cable. If you can remove display and clean these connections, you might be able to fix it. Problem is, they can be quite fragile or glued together...

    LED Light Fading Problem

I'd try swapping the bright and dim leds to see if the problem follows.

What is the series-parallel configuration ?

They are usually 3 or 6 volts. Honestly, I'd just get some D cell batteries in series, and see what lights them up.

Charging a battery from well pump circuit (cycles on/off 120v)

Easy, but imho (et al) don't see it as feasible. On the other hand, Tree roots and rocky soil can be overcame. I have a circuit trenced all the way to my pond about 700ft away from the house amongst trees. Since your driveway needs work anyway, you may consider taking up a portion of it to...

Charging a battery from well pump circuit (cycles on/off 120v)

Most wells have a bladder tank in or near the house with a pressure switch in (or next to) it to cycle the well motor. It may be possible to move the ps to the well head but I doubt it would work right. Not to mention it'd be more work than just running a new circuit.

Charging a battery from well pump circuit (cycles on/off 120v)

Why not ask him the best option to power your new flagpole? It may be cheaper and easier to run an ac circuit than dc because it likely requires larger expensive wire to overcome voltage drop. What you deem "impossible to run" may be easy for him. Btw, I'm sure he'll agree, that tapping power...
