    Agree with Dave on reed relays possibly being the problem. Mechanical devices are probably not a good idea when high accuracy is required.     Just make sure that your batteries are fully charged and in good condition before leaving it on all night. Last thing you need is trouble starting the engine on a cold morning because the blanket has taken the edge off the batteries. Hopefully the diesel heater doesn't break down very often.

    Those cables are to power a device, usually an external hard drive, from two USB ports on a computer to get sufficient power output. Not sure I would recommend using one to solve your problem by taking power from two different sources.

    Just wondering whether it is a good idea to have 240vac and 24dc on different contacts of the same relay. A little too close together for my liking. My preference would be two relays, one with 240vac contacts and the other with 24vdc contacts.

    The IT guy at work often uses my compressed air gun to clean out laptops and PC's. My air gun is adjustable, but pretty sure he just pulls the trigger full on. You can here the fan spin. It is amazing how much dust comes out of some of the PC's.

    Just run a wire off the spare live #1 connector through a 2A fuse to a cig lighter socket. Put the fuse as close as possible to the fusebox. You will also need a negative earth wire secured directly to the car chassis.
