    What’s NOT happening with the PSU?. Those blue X1/Y1 caps are safety caps. Are they shorted?. You can temporarily remove them for testing purposes. Lift a leg or remove the mosfets. Is a short still present without the mosfets?. Martin

    Wouldn’t that be an output?. But yes, I agree, corrosion is the most obvious scenario as temperature changes in a shed would cause internal condensation. Try cleaning the whole boards and connections with IPA (isopropyl alcohol). Martin

    Do you have any way of checking the fuses?. If not, take the end of a torch off and put the fuse inline, as if adding another battery. You may need a small piece of wire to hold onto the fuse end and back to the torch. But cheap multimeter or fuse checkers are £5. Martin

    I have absolutely no idea what you are doing. But I have questions for you. 1. Does the amp overheat? 2. Does it have an internal cooling fan? 3. Have you checked heat sink paste on output transistors? 4. WHAT ARE YOU DOING?

    Wall Wart voltages.

    As above, but adding battery operated items, they can stipulate 9V, 9.6V or 10V. But batteries run down!. Therefore, the item (radio for example) will still work down to 7.2V for example or lower. I have network equipment that requires 15V but works 24/7 on 12V.
