    What’s the main problem?. That’s an X2 cap. You can remove it for testing purposes and see if the unit functions correctly. It normally fails short circuit blowing the fuse. But not always. Martin

    I would suggest a good cleaning of the board and it looks like the solder needs a good going over as well. Then see what is and is not working. Martin

    Oh dear! As said above “no, no, no”. See below picture for example of how much copper is stripped to insert into the termination block. But it’s much safer for you if you buy the adapter.
