Bearing found inside subwoofer! Does it go to it?

I think the first question is : Does the speaker box have a hole/grill or port that would allow an item of this size to enter it?. And secondly, is it a ball bearing or a sealed bearing race?. If this unit is purely a sub box, I doubt it has any reason to be inside other than curious little...

    Soldering iron wire

For future ‘lock downs’, buy a rechargeable soldering iron or a simple battery operated iron. There are also gas powered irons but these are for heavier duty soldering. I have also got a 12v car battery iron that stays in my car for emergencies. But most people have more than one mains operated...

Wanptek Power Supply KPS305D - Out not stable

This sounds like dirty pot contacts. But, is the click you hear a relay?. Some of these bench supplies have relays for different voltages. Could still be as easy as cleaning the pot or pots with contact cleaner. I would do this first to rule it/them out. Martin

Kid's battery operated car stopped moving

Nice pictures.. But I think @Tha fios agaibh meant pictures of the old switch and new switch. Plus how you are connecting it. A simple diagram of the complete circuit would be useful too including colours of cables. Martin

Woo-Woo Dear Sir/Madam I live in canterbury kent united kingdom

Bluejets for chief samaritan! Easily solved.. Find an old TV antenna and hold it on your head. When the electromagnetic mind control device is activated, the electromagnetic waves will bounce off the TV antenna sending any hidden messages into the ionosphere. Job done!. Martin

    Searching for Solder

So safe that it cracks and stops the little electrons from continuing on their journey.. I would buy both leaded and lead free. Lead free to sit on a shelf looking good and leaded for every day soldering. But mainly for re-soldering repairs where lead free was used.. Just my 2 cents....... Martin

    Powering LED strip

Ok, the board is the size of a 9 volt battery. Where do you plan to run the wires?. I would imagine over and round the back?. So the same would apply to what ever you choose to use. You could get a small piece of coloured perspex and drill 5mm holes for the LEDs?. Which ever way you decide...

    Powering LED strip

SparkyCal, Why not buy a unit for £0.99?. It has ten outputs already for LEDs. If you really want to use you LED strip, you can simply solder your RGB leads to the outputs via a transistor if required. Or just use the board as it is with 10 red LEDs that flash and the flash rate can be adjusted...

Tesla Coil Kit - help needed

I think that grey/silver doughnut thing goes on top of the long copper and blue thing. I could be wrong, but all the small other thingies go at the bottom of the big copper and blue thing. That might get you started. Martin

A ground / negative connection question

Erm, I am confused by #1. #2 no. If #2 is isolated from ground (earth) no potential exists. If you connect to negative, then your bulb will light. Martin

A ground / negative connection question

And I forgot.. Sending to ground. This is much more complicated but in your battery scenario means connecting to the battery negative. Electrical items that are ‘grounded’ or ‘earthed’ are really quite different. In the world outside of batteries and double insulated supplies, an earth or ground...

A ground / negative connection question

I think a simple explanation to begin with is more useful. Think of a battery, it has positive and negative terminals. Your ‘loop’ is not a correct explanation. If you ‘loop’ or connect them together, you have a short circuit. That is not good and things go ‘bang’!. Instead we have resistance...
