current sense issue in BLDC motor

That's not what I meant. Have you 'scoped the supply (current) to see where the current overload comes from? There may be transients caused by poor supply filtering/regulation or poor decoupling in the sense circuit etc.

Identifying LCD Display - VDO Logic Combi

Two possible solutions then: Since most LCD panels these days are fully integrated devices i.e. have the display and controller on one board and sold as an individual, complete, module..... 1. Find an LCD module (16x1) with the same physical size LCD and strip it down to the LCD 'alone' and...

current sense issue in BLDC motor

How are you measuring the current? Are you considering 'transients' in the current that could exceed - albeit briefly - the set cut-off levels?

    Battery eliminators for Smartphone devices

You can put as many microchips in a phone as you want - they don't POWER the phone. For someone who purports to be an IT Company (Consultant?): http://www.caclubindia.com/profile.asp?member_id=601302 you show a particular and repeated lack of knowledge on the subject.

Identifying LCD Display - VDO Logic Combi

If you're 100% confident that you have removed all corrosion and that there is no damage caused by it (can you see UNDER the control IC?) then the controller may have been damaged by the original corrosion. Swapping the control chips is possible but requires particular skills and care. If the...

    Lead acid battery

Two fully charged and 'good' lead acid batteries should read around 28V when fully charged. This will fall almost immediately the charging voltage is removed but should still remain over 25.5V to prove a 'good' battery. If they are over 5 years old then change them anyway - more so if you rely...

Identifying LCD Display - VDO Logic Combi

Does the LCD have any markings on it? With the same segment/dot layout it's unusual to find matching displays having differing connections.... by holding the display(s) at an angle you might see the 'elements' that make the display up but if there is ANY difference between them (extra...

Increasing responsiveness of mechanical AutoMeter resistance-based signal gauge

Such gauges are 'slow' due to their reliance on thermal properties of bi-metallic strips to move the needle. The only way to 'speed them up' is to replace them with 'fast' devices i.e. electronic readouts. You could fit a simple LED bar graph display for crude accuracy but for 'instant'...

Help to identfy a battery connector

I had a lengthy look at the various suppliers I know of and even through hundreds of Google-result images for such but with no direct replacement result. Unless someone comes along with first-hand knowledge of the connector I think you're going to be stuck with the above suggestions as solutions.

Mimic a Type 80 rectifier tube

Good luck trying to emulate a tube using solid-state electronics! Many have tried (unsuccessfully) other than for some 'basic' tube versions such as the triode. The FET is as close as you can get to a basic tube for performance. But it isn't as simple as swapping out tubes - you will have to...

    Diode Da Lima

When you connect power to an inductor (coil of wire) you create a magnetic field around it. When the power is removed the magnetic field collapses - as the field collapses it causes a voltage to be induced in the coil (a voltage in the reverse direction of that originally applied) and that...

    Weird PC problem

Probably only happens when you switch on? The warm/hot surfaces are getting condensation forming on them (overnight) as the insides cool down which is being flung around by the fans at morning switch on. You could fit a small heater to the inside of the PC (to run at night only) or relocate...

    Hello

Hi and welcome. I think many of our membership may have started out on the same path as yourself - screwdrivers, kids and electronics seem destined to meet! I did it via old tube TV's! Old components still have a very prominent place in the electronics community - there are sites dedicated to...

    Add Hdmi to a monitor

Here's the HDMI standard: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HDMI and here's the VGA standard: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Video_Graphics_Array All you need to do is design the hardware to convert one standard to the other..... Sample the HDMI channels and re-code and scale it to match the...

I did say 'native resolution' - not sure if it actually supports 1366x768 but the adapter will convert it to 1024x768 anyway.

    3.3v Voltage Regulator

I've seen data sheets for 3.3V LDO regulators that operate from 2.1V to 6V input.... Here's one that fits the bill: http://uk.farnell.com/microchip/mcp1825s-3302e-db/ic-ldo-3-3v-500ma-sot-223-3/dp/1578404

Glasgee! Do you know of any good places for second hand equipment there? Being 'out in the sticks' I rarely get to attend the likes of boot sales to sift through old electronic 'crap' - stuff that I love to mess with....
