    powered computer speaker

rtrg, Sorry, I forgot that CDRIVE isn't allowed to play out today! You seem to have a deep fascination with adaptors! Both the amps have a stereo jack input. The computer sound card has a stereo output. Just keep things simple and use a stereo splitter. Just wire one amp output to left speaker...

Hi Mel, Probably an NTC like in the linked thread. What are the missing xx's? Can you not read them? Martin

    Potential Divider: Unexpected Voltage Readings

That's a very informative post as usual Hop. Thank you, I learnt (for the Yanks learned) something else! I now need a brain expansion slot fitted and a file system for quick access.:D Martin

    I've Just Been Spanked!

Well, if you're NOT allowed to play with me, I DO NOT want to play with you either. So tell Mommy that I said it FIRST! But you already KNEW that!:p Martin

    Potential Divider: Unexpected Voltage Readings

Just a guess, but perhaps has something to do with the meter having about 10MΩ. So in effect 2 x 10M in parallel? I assumed that both your meters were DVM. So I could be way off if not. Martin

    3 phase fan control

Even some laptops have 3 phase motors! No, I didn't know that. I just read it here. Martin

How to caculate the W/L of a MOSFET?

From how I read it, K=ID. You have the drain current on your graph. EDIT: I see what you mean. K and W/L are together. I guess I'll have to read it again. Martin

Hahaha, Chris you crack me up!! You just made my day...:p OTOH, that thread was $%@#. We just endorsed it further! Oh, and grow a pair! You started it:eek: I "knew" you would blame somebody else!:D Martin

It appears that Solid State amps don't need a load. So you should be fine. Ignore that comment in the above post. Old habbits die hard!! Martin

    powered computer speaker

rtrg, As they are stereo amps and you only want to use one channel, you will need to put a load on the channel you are not using. (some homework for you). PS. DC centre pin is +

LED Strips blink on all X10 circuits

To check the current, take out the single wire from the driver to the connector. connect the meter between the single wire and the two wires in the connector. the red wires. You will probably need to change the meter probe into the A terminal. Unless it's autoranging. Check your meter online if...

    reciever died, wont turn on

Was it a conductive cigarette? If you take the top off, you may be able to see the burnt component. (unplugged). Take some good clear photos and post them here. Martin

LED Strips blink on all X10 circuits

Can you put your meter in series with the led strips to check the current? Then you would have to double it because you are running two strips. Depending on how those leds are connected series/parallel, gives a huge difference in current. If I remember correctly, I got a difference of between...

How to caculate the W/L of a MOSFET?

Hi Mark, I am useless with math. But that doesn't mean I can't help you. I am reading a great source about mosfets. It has all your answers and formula, calculations too. Have a read, or jump to page 4. Here. When you understand it, perhaps you could explain it to me:) Martin

I don't know whether you scrolled down to see the 'labeled' connections? All the ones I checked were clearly labeled. Also, they are stereo amps! I think you wired one speaker across the left and right outputs (two outside connections). I doubt they are bridgeable, because the description would...

where do you get your "stuff?"

Ebay is my 'go to' place now. I used Maplin and RS if things were really desperate. If you can wait approx 15 days for the first order, Ebay is the cheapest by far. My local Maplin charge between £0.79 and £2.99 for single types of led. Ebay charges £0.99 for 100 pieces free P&P. I can buy 20...
