    Hi, It would depend on the trim pot. For the small rectangular pots with the adjustment screw, I would connect the screw side to the centre wiper and the other to the circuit.

    Hi, I wouldn't do anything like that for this!! You need to breadboard the circuit first and test it... Or vero-board if soldering is preferable.. You may even be able to use a smaller cheaper transistor! It's only 5 leds.. Also note that they only 'kind of' flash to the volume being high! Martin

    Hello, The diodes now need reversing. You shouldn't need the resistor across the emitters. Depending how bright they get, you might need to change the led resistor. Maybe 150 or 200 Ohms. Martin.

    To add to what Dave said, These "instructables" should be called "destructibles"... They are a menace.. You will damage your amp. It's not 'if', it's 'when'... I also notice that you are using RCA's. I can only assume that you will plugging directly to an amp output. You might want to consider...
