Need a super simple 3v DC timer circuit

This example I found in 15 seconds on google. It's here..http://electronicsclub.info/p_timer.htm The buzzer can be replaced for your motor. Although a transistor might be required from pin 3 to drive the motor. But my point is, a little research and reading can find the the answers to just...

Need a super simple 3v DC timer circuit

Personally, I thought making something was all part of the fun. Not wasting time at all. I would definitely go the 555 timer route. There is a wealth of info out there on these very useful chips.

    Minimum test equipment

Thanks guys. mofy, strange you mention Rigol.. I just downloaded a pdf on the Rigol DS1054Z £300 doesn't seem too bad for a first scope. But I heard a novice should probably start with an old CRT scope and then move onto a digital scope. Not sure how that actually works. I was looking at...

Hi BobK, this may sound simple to you. But the OP did ask for a simple way. Your explanation was assuming that people understand pic. I certainly do not and prefer ' the old electronics way ' . I appreciate you are a wealth of experience and knowledge, but that knowlledge comes with...

Hey Adam, nice job. If R and S short, will the green led light? Also, if S shorts to ' common ' what happens?. I am a little thick with schematics. Martin.

Very Basic circuit but I am struggling

Is this end the 6.35 jack? Either way, if the other end is connected to a pressure pad, then the circuit will still be open (no short). I am kind of understanding (a little). But I think you may need three banks of three led's and three female jacks. Basically a bank of led's for each three...

Very Basic circuit but I am struggling

Hmm OK. Are the cables terminated the same at both ends? I don't see how you can have a test box to check soldering of jack plugs. If there is a short, the led will light. If there is no short it wont. But the test box wont tell what end of the cable is shorted or not. IMHO it's just continuity...
