    Is there any particular reason why you cannot just use a small standard 240v relay, one on each machine, arranged to come on at the same time you switch the motor of the machine on? Cannot see a reason to detect current.

    30A is the maximum current the relay will handle, nothing to do with the fise size. Being a bakolite fuse holder, one would expect a relatively large current BUT the wiring size sort of suggests that not anywhere near 30A. What circuit is the fuse in...?? main motor ..?? ..unknown..?? A bit more...

    I've always used in conjunction with a micro but yes, seems correct otherwise. When connected to the pc , assuming drivers are installed, you should see it come up as a particular com port, seems to vary so best to check in "hardware" for the correct allocation.

    If the primary and secondary battery sources are slightly different voltage( or configured as such) then perhaps a voltage comparitor circuit with afore mentioned relay or mosfet controlled output.

    Perhaps consider the input to the fan is much larger than the output to retain flow of air. (usually 2.5 times) May not be important but just a note.
