You mentioned 2 types of chargers in an earlier post. Unfortunately a lead acid battery charger is neither of them (although it is closer to a constant voltage charger)
A good charger will vary the voltage based on the ambient temperature and potentially the charge current. In addition it will change to one of several modes depending on the state of charge.
A good nicad (or nimh) charger will detect the end of charge, something that is not trivial.
