I am trying to use Compass to program mostly Vista 20se and 20P panels
but I haven't once yet connected . Im using the Ademco CIA modem and a
Compaq laptop running Windows XP. I have change the com settings on
the laptop as recommended by Ademco , checked the CIA modem in Compass
and all other related settings but nothing . After starting the panel
with the code + # + 1 then hitting ok at the laptop everything seems
ok for about five seconds then it says modem can not be set or
something like that . I am using the phone cord that came with the CIA
and even thought the modem comes with no documentation Im pretty sure
that it is hooked up right to the panel . Anybody have a clue what
might be the problem ? I even defaulted my own panel to try it without
any previous programming and no luck . Oh most importantly I should
mention that I only really want to have it work with a direct
connection which is what I have been trying .
