I am trying to fix a Western Digital DL4100 Network Attached Storage device. When it was brought to me, the LCD display was not functional (blank) and the Power Button LED was also blank(It should be BLUE if all is well and RED if there has been an error. I found that the very thin ribbon cable that controls those LED's was 90% disconnected. I pushed it in as far as I could, which restored the LCD Display and the RED LED but not the BLUE. The cable is still not properly inserted and I cannot figure out how to get it all the way in. Thanks in advance.DL4100display&power LED.jpg

Hi ya
the connector has been destroyed. There should be a strip that goes the length of the connector
over the top of those contacts. It would have been hinged at each end so it could flip up and down
to clasp or release the ribbon cable.
The only fix is to get a replacement connector .... very similar to this one
