Does MAX232 support UART?

Hello People,

I would like to ask is the MAX232 chip support UART?

Because I would like to make "serial to TTL adapter".

The "serial to TTL adapter" will act as a device that help me link between my PC COM port to another PC COM port or devices that might have UART in it.

The MAX232 is nothing more than a level shifter taking in 0-5V and outputting +/-10V
