I found the equation used before
2 x pi x 7 / 2.5. I thought you were using a different wheel from the one in the pic.
okay divide circumfrence by pi then half: 50 / 3.14 = diameter then half for 7.96cm radius thanks

It's actually a tad more than 50cm circumference, because the magnet diameter is a chord rather than an arc.

ok so taking that into consideration? I am considering a strait 8cm radius to the centre should be fine!!

So I'm resuming this thread, I'm rebuilding the maglatron I now have 20 magnets either side of the wheel (doubled up) and 8 coils and the wheel is heavier will provide images soon I think I am going to need to modify the inverter that I made with the IR2110 circuit to cater for the new design!! and I need help/advice on how to rig the coils up aswell

after re-reading part of the thread I do not think the inverter need altering!

making progress! here a couple snap shots, need to put on the last set of coils and secure then I will be mounting driving motor!

:D
do you like my machine? so I remember how to wire the coils. If I remember correctly I pass the magnet past each coil and look at the deflection of the needle on my analog meter and wire all the (positive wire together) and (all the negative together) or should I say wire together the wires from the coils that deflect, say, to the left and see how many volts it creates??!!?? thanks

so I'm remounting the first set of two coils and have finished the other 3 sets after that mounting the drone motor, I get an hour today

so now I have made the coils mounted symetricall and going to mount the driving motor (drone motor) and after that I will be putting in the cores to the coils (welding rods) I have to say its looking proper!

so I'm on the part where I rig the coils up and am struggling to sus it out if I get the needle on the meter to move to the right (which I assume is positive) as the magent approaches - on all of the coils and then which ever the the black lead is on, they need to be connected together, and all the positives go between a pair of diodes, I think that that is right. All the coils are in phase and there are 8 coils! let me know, thanks

All the coils need to be phased such that their outputs add rather than subtract. I've lost track of what particular series/parallel combination you want.

ok cool I want to add the output of all 8 coils in parralell a magnet passes all the cores at once, none in series, they are all in phase

Parallel connection will help in reducing the effects of coil inductance, but I think the high inductance of those massive coils is what will limit the useful output of your machine.

so I have 8 coils 2 sets on either side of the rotor all of them have a north passing at the same time at the same speed and so to for the souths, they pass the coils at the same time how do I wire them up for the inverter please, thanks guys a spice model would be nice, that would be very nice because I'm struggling

sorry about the intermittent contact really limited on the internet time at the mo! this inverter as shown below but with my configuration there are eight of my coils are "firing" at once all with a north passing at the same time and are all exactly in phase and producing a voltage of 10 volts although I am working on getting better results soon please provide image of the spice file because I cant access spice on the computer at the moment. the top left part of the circuit that needs modifying remember 8 coils "firing" at once plus changing the transformer is not a problem 1726259780203.png
What inverter?
