I was sort of hoping to nudge you in the direction of civilized
behavior, but some things are just not possible, I guess.
Like your pathetic remark about money being just little green pieces
of paper, right?

Grow up asswipe. You stalk me, and that's about the extent of it.

They say money can't buy happiness. If so, you aren't spending it right.

The big picture is that you can't distribute more than there is.
Conservation of mass. Money is just used to control distribution and
to trade off consumption versus investment. Money doesn't create
wealth, it just measures it. If the Governmant gives you a million
dollars, you would seem to be better off. If the Government gave
everybody a million dollars, it would be a disaster.

Too many people think that they can take "money" away from rich people
(who, actually, seldom possess giant bags of cash) and give it to
poorer people (ie, themselves) and make people better off. It mostly
doesn't work, and often leads to immense, tragic consequences.

However the 'trickle down' theory didn't work either. It gave me the
sensation of being pissed upon from a great height.

Here they refer to $20 notes as luncheon vouchers.

Well, the notes are, but what they represent isn't.

So let's see...

At first the house wasn't there, so nothing was happening and nobody
was making any money.

Then the decision was made to build the house.

Ding!!! An architect is hired and he and his firm are making money.

The plot of land is bought and the seller makes money.

A contractor is hired and his people make money and add value to the
land and to the sticks and stones the use to build the house with,
same as when you buy parts and sell finished goods.

Notice that something of value is now in place where nothing was
before, and everyone involved used their resources productively to
make it happen.

Finally, now that the house is up and property taxes must be paid on
it, those taxes will be used to reward members of the community (pay
their salaries) who are also using their resources productively.

Anyway, that's how it works here. Where you live, YMMV.

That was totally retarded.

Would you enjoy living in Zimbabwe? The place is simply awash with
Zimbabwian dollars. Buckets of them, everywhere. Practically everyone
is a millionaire.

"On Friday, the government said it would triple the salaries of
190,000 soldiers and teachers. But even those government workers still
badly trail inflation; the best of the raises, to as much as $33
million a month, already are slightly below the latest poverty line
for the average family of five."

Would you like to make $33 million a month?

You really do uglify this group with your schoolboy insults and gross
scatology. And goodness knows you know nothing about electronic

Sure you can. Ever since we stopped backing up our paper money with
gold and silver, all those notes say is: "Trust me, I'm good for
it."

Really?

How do you think banks get wealthy? By selling popcorn?
No, they get wealthy by charging me money to borrow your money.

As the gap between the haves and have nots increases, and my what
once was skilled labor job gets beat out by trash collectors and tow
truck drivers, you'll see the crime rate go up right along with said
gap.

We can thank Nixon for that gem.
Global economy edicts it.

No, they get wealthy by charging me money to borrow your money.

Then, there's the millions they make finding ways to charge their
customers for petty bullshit, just like the fucking lawyers charging
$15 for a fucking fax!

I'd rather Howie Mandel give it to me. :-]

Like they are gonna do that. They don't even run the lotteries
fairly.

Crime rate and homeless statistics would tend to agree.

Ignoring the obvious joke, I disagree. Everything I learn enhances the
value of everything else I already know. The effect is upward
exponential. Sometimes something you studied decades ago collides with
a problem today, producing revelation.

Or, you can spend your time watching television and ride the negative
exponential.

I don't believe Homer had anything there, to push out.

No, you didn't try, you're trying. Very trying. Why'd you have to
go and say that? Did you think it was going to mend any broken
fences? Of course not. You should know better and you've been
around here long enough and, ostensibly, are smart enough to know
the difference between conciliatory language and a flame.

You pretend that you want to play nice, but you fire off snide barbs
often enough to make me think that deep down you're nothing more
than an elitist prick.

Something like:

Larkin "san" Haiku

I'm rich and you aren't.
Don't you wish you were like me?
Too bad you can't be.
---
You really do uglify this group with your schoolboy insults and gross
scatology. And goodness knows you know nothing about electronic
design.

---
He's not so bad, and when he's dealing with someone who shows him a
little respect, for goodness' sake, he passes on what he knows,
which isn't trivial, without rancor.

Talk about ugly, I'm actually embarrassed for Homer when I read some
of his stuff.

And then there's the _always_ condescendingly pompous, unemployable
Bill Sloman.

And me. ;)
