You pretend that you want to play nice, but you fire off snide barbs
often enough to make me think that deep down you're nothing more
than an elitist prick.

Something like:

Larkin "san" Haiku

I'm rich and you aren't.
Don't you wish you were like me?
Too bad you can't be.

Not only did you hit the nail on the head, but you drove it right
through the plank with one stroke, and it isn't even wet out.

I don't either. Perhaps that's why I never win. ;-)

Doesn't matter a bit about your personality.

The odds are over a few million to one that you'll hit.

Except the gap in the US is largely driven by immigration, which will
fix itself in a generation or so. And crime is down and falling, and
unemployment is at historical lows.

Sure, when it take two incomes just to pay the fucking scumtard
landlords, and SDGE.

Sad that my dada could raise a household of 7 on one menial,
non-union job, and I can barely stay above the waterline on a skilled
position at a gubmint job.

SDGE should have to give up half rate for the next ten years to pay
back the screwing they gave us, and are STILL giving us.

Of course not. MP couldn't stop insulting and cursing if he wanted to,
which apparently he doesn't.

You do it as well, which was his point. You just think you are good
at doing it without the cuss words, which is why I call you an asswipe
when you do.

The vail you hide behind is quite transparent.

I have. I actually used to service computers down to the board level, in the
days of 8 bitters.
Rub your feet on the carpet and zap 'em back into action did ya? :-]

Said the utter retard that doesn't think that gapped transformers
exist or have any purpose.

Surely JL never said such a thing ! ?

Sounds on the pricey side just for 'luncheon'. I can still recall when a pound
note would buy 7 pints of the local brewery's beer..

Most bars here are up to $4.50 a glass, and our glasses are small.
Some want $8.

I found a bar the other night (had to get some pool in) that had IPA
for $2.50 a glass!

I found my watering hole. Nobody beat me in like ten or twelve
games. They quit putting their name up on the board. :-[

An idea from the film 'Alien'... except that it was a fusion powered &
ground based.
Still. the idea is to change the atmosphere.
Those were oxygen generators, not chlorine scrubbers, and that was
fictoion. This cloud is real.

Ooops... remnant of my hiking post. That would be veil.

Not by much.

They pay out lots of small prizes to keep their customers coming back
in the hopes of a big win. The value of x_bar for most lotteries is
probably in the range JL suggested, or around 50%, less taxes in the
US.

Best regards,

I used to go to the movies and buy an ice cream for one shilling (ten
cents).

You don't know that for sure.

He and I went round and round a year or two ago and eventually
settled into a mutually respectful relationship where we can
disagree cordially without rancor.
---
I enjoy life.

---
So do I.
---
And I'm polite to anybody who acts at all reasonably.

---
Sometimes, if you want to help, you have to be a sink.
---
And I try to help people with real problems. And a newsgroup ain't
life.

---
Yes, it is. You spend time here defending your beliefs, helping
technically when you can, and criticizing those who disagree with
you. Admittedly that's not _all_ of life, but it's a good part of
it.
---
It's not my fault that my wife has a good job.

---
Mine does too, but how on Earth did you ever come up with that?

The poem wasn't about your wife, it was about your attitude.

Kind of like "Richard Corey", although I must admit you seem to have
moved beyond that.

I think it does work, if done in the right proportion.

That was Margaret Thatcher's idea too.

History apparently said otherwise. The rich simply got richer and the poor,
poorer.

On exactly what basis do you make that assertion ?

Banks don't *create* wealth,

How about telling that to those who believe in the power of 'service industries'
? Another of Thatcher's bogus ideals.

Bollocks !

You *don't* create wealth that way. It's no different to privatised taxation.

Banks *do not* provide an output of greater value than the input, i.e. they do
not generate wealth.

That's economics 101 !
