Howdy, folks, I just created an account for this site, and hoped maybe I could get some help on a little project of mine.
My brother does digital art for money and his tablet broke recently. He got a new one, and was throwing away the old one, but, as I do with many things, I generally like to open them up and see how they work and maybe try to fix them. However, of course I have very little experience or knowledge on how these sort of things work, so maybe I could get some help on here. Thanks in advance. Here are the details:
Model: MSP19 (maybe MSP19U? Not sure.)
Brand: Yiynova
Fault Details: When plugged in to mains electricity, no response, no power led, no amount of pressing, holding or double pressing power button gets any response.
Fault History: Tablet originally flickered wildly and brightly for periods when turned on, then functioned as intended. Then would no longer have anything on the screen (black, blank screen, I believe, this is all second hand hear-say from my brother.) But power LED was still lighted. When I received the tablet, the response was the same, blank screen, but the power LED wasn't functioning either.
Actions taken: I opened up the casing, and fiddled with many screws and tightened several ribbon flexi-cables, hoping that it was just a loose cable or something. This got no response, though I believe -something- small and plastic fell off of the circuit board at the bottom of the tablet casing. Could be important?
My guess?: The screen has no marks or signs of -any- significant wear or tear. No frayed ribbon cables. I'm supposing that the circuit board is fried? Again, I don't know really anything about all this.
So that's that. I would really, really love to have this tablet for myself, and if anyone could help me fix it, I would be super appreciative. Any help, tips, ideas, or solutions greatly anticipated. <3
