Peron
Pls i have a poblem of getting this component in my local market for my project.CA3261 so pls i need an alternative way of getting this signal converted to aleast 3 digits display(000-999)volts using any other schematic available but not ICL 7107, 7106. thks
ante
Hi Peron,I believe the CA3261 is hard to get anywhere; there are no matches when I search for it. Can you post the circuit so we can see how and if it is possible to replace the CA3261 in your project?
Peron
Ante, Yes, i have accepted your point, but i made a big mistake in the ic part number so the correct number is ca3161e and ca3162e. i can't paste the circuit but here is the linkhttp://users.otenet.gr/~athsam/digital_volt_and_ambere_meter_eng.htm
indulis
A ground referenced Ammeter?
NSklavos
A MAX1491 is a self contained DC Voltmeter that can drive an LCD display to 2000 counts. Also, here in the US, you can buy inexpensive DC panel meters for about $10.00-$15.00 each.
Peron
yeah, Nsklavos, i'm in nigeria, and the type of components available here are those used frequency in most of the electronics gadgets and secondly we the researchers have nothing much to offer in that aspect. so i would prefer any alternative IC or equivalent circuit to do the analog conversion of the voltage. pls
Peron
Indulis, i don't understand what you meant by that.
ante
Hi Peron,I can see now you might have got your figures wrong, this project uses the 3162E and 3161E not the 3261 as you stated.
Peron
Ante, What is the solution now to this particular components , is it that there is no other equivalent component that can handle the same function?
ante
I have seen this done with a PIC somewhere. You could also use an ICL 7106 which has 3 and a half digit output.
MP
Original post......but not ICL 7107, 7106. thksPeron: Perhaps you could give a hint as to what IS available in your market. As ante has mentioned, 7106 is the best alternative to do what you are trying to achieve. Samples from the manufacturer are available for this IC in most places of the world.MP
indulis
One of the inputs to ammeter is connected to "ground". That means you can only measure ground referenced signals, unless of course, the whole thing is floating.
