stathis81 Posted February 15, 2016 Report Posted February 15, 2016 Good evening to everyone. Is it ok to use TIP 120 instead of TIP 122?Thanks in advance FranceRouze 1 Quote
Hero999 Posted February 15, 2016 Report Posted February 15, 2016 (edited) A schematic would help us to answer the question.I wouldn't recommend either. A MOSFET would probably be better. Edited February 15, 2016 by Hero999 FranceRouze 1 Quote
stathis81 Posted February 15, 2016 Author Report Posted February 15, 2016 Here is the schematic. It is posted in the light- power control page. Quote
audioguru Posted February 15, 2016 Report Posted February 15, 2016 (edited) Why don't you look at the datasheet that shows both darlington transistors? They are both the same except the TIP120 has a very high breakdown voltage and the more expensive (costs one penny more) TIP122 has an extremely high breakdown voltage. But the voltage in this project is only 12V so either Mosfet darlington will be fine. We do not know how much current your motor uses so it might overload the darlington transistor. Edited February 17, 2016 by audioguru Where are the Mosfets that I was thinking about? Quote
stathis81 Posted February 15, 2016 Author Report Posted February 15, 2016 Thank you very much for your response.I appreciate your help. Quote
Hero999 Posted February 21, 2016 Report Posted February 21, 2016 Replace the Darlington with a MOSFET. The IRF3415 or IRL540 would do. Quote
Aman bharti Posted April 11, 2018 Report Posted April 11, 2018 DC FAN Motor Speed Controller Regulator Circuit Works ON Principle of Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) technique , By Using This Technique Controlling Of DC Motor Speed is very Smoothly And Noise Free. Tested on 12v 1 A DC Motor For Full detail with live demo click on http://www.circuitspedia.com/dc-fan-speed-regulator-circuit/ By This Method Smoothly Controlled The Speed Of DC Motor At Negligible Noise BY using This Circuit You can control the speed of DC Fan by tunning the (Potentiometer) volume control variable resistance. These circuits are based on 555 Timer . Quote
