Hi everyone.

I'm trying to find the i(t) for the circuit below. The correct answer is i(t) = -3.5 + 0.25e^(4t)

I've managed to get the constant part but can't seem to get the exponential term. Can anyone see where I've gone wrong?

Are you really sure about the 'correct' answer? That answer would have the current increasing to infinity yet the circuit would not seem to allow the current to keep increasing forever. Only a voltage source directly across the inductor would make the current increase with time without ever reaching a final value.

The answer you give above is not the same as your worksheet answer. Why is there an undefined constant in your answer?
