Float Switch Relay Project - Looking for some help

Hi Trevor, I can't see any specs for those switches stating what voltages(AC or DC) and current they are rated for. Do you have other information on them? Your 22watt 120vac pump only draws about 180mA, so you may be able to wire it directly through the float switch without a relay. If using...

CanBus Switching from a Reversing Bleeper Circuit?

Don't assume that there is a ground. Test to make sure. Can the dealer advise if reverse lights are an option? I haven't worked on a Merlo for ages and don't know anyone at the local dealer, so unfortunately I can't get any info on their wiring.

CanBus Switching from a Reversing Bleeper Circuit?

The Hella 996152131 timer relay would be a good choice, provided the beeper has a constant ground. The beeper would have to have the positive pulsed to work with this relay. Won't work if the beeper negative is pulsed. See diagram below. 30 - fused 12v battery or ignition supply 31 - ground 15...

CanBus Switching from a Reversing Bleeper Circuit?

Have you checked if the power supply to the beeper is pulsed or constant? The beeper may have internal circuitry to make the pulsed sound.

    Microwave sparking from side panel

Actually, this law does work quite well here in NZ. The shop can't just say, "out of warranty, go away". They also can't just palm you off to the manufacturer or importer. They sold it to you, so it is their responsibility to rectify the issue.

    Gas Gauge Sending Unit question

Thanks. That looks like an interesting device that I may have a need for in the future. Hope it solves your problem. One thing to remember with fuel gauges is that they usually show the depth of fuel in the tank, not the actual volume of fuel. A good example is a round truck tank. The gauge...

    Gas Gauge Sending Unit question

These gauges don't require a regulated voltage supply. They are called balancing coil gauges. They have two small coils that pull the needle in opposite directions. One is connected to ground and the other to the sender. As the voltage changes the magnetic pull of each coil changes, thus...
