What does your workshop / workbench look like?

Thanks for the correction Steve. I was really just wondering if you had projects where you used that many scopes all at once. Forgive my ignorance here, but is a dynamic signal analyzer just a spectrum analyzer with additional features? Very impressive collection indeed.

    Finishing touches on motion alarm

Looks like you need a resistor from base to emitter to help switch off transistor. Sorry, I see this was already mentioned. (Posts didn't show on my end)

What does your workshop / workbench look like?

Because some people have a budget. I can see two, or maybe three. But seven? Seems a bit superfluous.

Very impressive Steve. May I ask why you need 7 scopes?

Sounds logical. I believe it's the board shaped like a kidney bean.

    12v receptacle

Yes, because Nema design specifically rates receptacle outlets for current, voltage, and system configuration. So, No you can't legally (or ethically) use a 120vac outlet for 12vdc. Externet made an excellent point. People will plug in anything that will fit into the receptacle and create a...

    Motorcycle stop/turn/tail

Thanks Dorke. @Chuck M: Yes, something likely that would work. You could use that or any off-delay timer circuit inserted just before the relay in my sketch. I'm not good at figuring the time duration, but I assume you'd need to lower the value of the 470k resistor to give you a shorter time...

    Motorcycle stop/turn/tail

You can do it with one relay if you use steering diodes. Also note blocking diode across relay coil. Stop and tail lights from left and right can be tied together. Forgive my sideways sketch.

    Motorcycle stop/turn/tail

For safety, I trust you have a bright brake light independent of the other tail and brake (stop) light. You could use a relay that would disable the tail (running) and brake (stop) wires every time the turn signal flashes. If you wanted to be a little more elaborate you could use P channel...

    Battery charger questions

I don't know the model number off the top of my head but it's made by Lester and looks like this one. Yes, it's for lead acid battery use. I believe its max is 30amps. I understand the manufacture wanting to cover their arse, but it's a little frustrating to have to find a backdoor solution...

    Battery charger questions

Thanks for the explanations. Yes, I understand the relationship between voltage and current during the charging cycle and I agree there are certainly limitations of the battery. But, I have experienced this problem many times with this type chargers and the batteries almost always perform fine...

    Battery charger questions

I'm guessing it applies a high frequency to the battery and then measures the voltage and current response. Kind of like an Esr meter?

    Battery charger questions

They are not beyond recovery, just over discharged. I charge them with another type charger and once they climb a few volts higher the original charger works fine and they hold a charge as normal. Can you elaborate on the latter? How?

    Battery charger questions

Scenario 1: Someone asked me to repair a golf cart style battery charger. I found there was nothing wrong with the charger itself. The charger was not turning on because it didn't see its minimum cut-on voltage because the batteries were too dead. Q1:Why do they design a charger with a cut-on...

    Drive A 5w Led

The Chinese are horrible at instructions. I wouldn't trust the specs given. They could mean to use a700ma rated power supply instead of saying it has a forward current of 700ma? I would apply 6vdc and measure the actual current. I'm guessing your constant current driver went well above the...
