    Power supply for CB

Harald, was my assumption correct about shorting the output leads?. I don’t want to give false information. I just remember my son’s friend at university not being able to set current on his. But his was a £30 unit from eBay, this one seems rather pricey for what it is!. Mine is programmable so...

    Power supply for CB

I do believe that shorting the output leads is the way to set current limit. If you set voltage to approx 5V, then clip the output leads together. The CC knob should now be active. Set Current to 4-4.5A and then separate the leads. Now just set your voltage to 13.8V or similar. If the current...

Hi Jamie, if the LED is too bright for your liking, you can of course lower the current. Modern LEDs are still very bright at 5mA. Martin

    Help with pin connector identification

Good idea, they’re not expensive. You could always add your own connector type if you don’t mind opening the unit and changing them? Or hardwire to inside and have external connections?. Just another idea. Martin

    Help with pin connector identification

Ah ok. That unit doesn’t look like it has banana sockets. Did your original wire and plug come with it from new?. I would think somebody on here can tell you what connectors/jacks your unit requires. Martin

    Help with pin connector identification

Has your device got ‘female’ banana sockets? Too loose? You can open them up a little by spreading the blades out. Quite common for older jacks. Banana plug and banana socket. Martin

    capacitor replacement help

My apologies, I don’t mean to sound horrible, but reinventing the wheel is pointless. There are countless crossover calculators online which do a reasonable job but as some have already told you, simulations and real world tests are somewhat different. Having flying leads out the back of the...
