  1. Hi sizan, Welcome to our forum. I would recommend the book “Power Supply Cookbook”.
  2. It is wrong to call this project a “Simple but reliable car battery tester” this project is not a battery tester! It is a voltage measuring device which reveals nothing about the batterys condition just its voltage!
  3. Hi Bobby, I think they have English manuals but if not, I’ll be glad to assist if you need any help. ;D
  4. Hi Feng, Can you post prize information including shipping for Europe please? I don’t think anyone here is interested in buying a 20 or 40 feet container full of these so prize info for just a few would be nice! ;)
  5. Hi Guys, Here it is: http://www.lyth.se/ Notice the top left logo! ;D
  6. Hi Nick, How’s your audio console PSU running these days? Is this the next stage of improvements? I am not an expert in filtering power but I thought I might add something. There is a jungle of filters out there called different names as; ground loop isolation transformer for hum reduction, isolated conditioners, balanced power devices, UPS and more! Here is a couple of nice ‘filters’: http://home.comcast.net/~thomasw_2/CheapskateBP1.html http://home.comcast.net/~thomasw_2/CheapskateBP4.html This is audio but also filtering: http://www.theaudioworx.com/ I believe these will keep you busy for a while! ;D
  7. I don’t really see the point here. Why convert mains to 12VDC and back to mains for a motor instead of running the motor directly from mains???
  8. A regular size car battery will not run a 1hp output motor for more than a few minutes. The battery will be destroyed after only a few cycles (charge/discharge) since a starter battery is not suitable for deep cycle use (deep discharge).
  9. Hi indulis, I get what you are trying to say and I agree! Here is some interesting reading: http://www.aikenamps.com/StarGround.html
  10. Even at 48 Volts you still have to deal with about 70 – 80 A at 3000 W output!

Hi Mike! I have just uploaded a 19992.77kb file!!!! You must have done some improving changes! ;) Thanks Mike! ;D
  12. Here’s a little something about pumps for you. [attachment deleted by admin]
  13. I’ll drink to that, cheers! ;D
  14. Hi AG, I did not notice any problems today using my own computer which is protected by Norton! There isn’t any receivers here as far as I could see at the first look, some TV’s Monitors, VCR’s Projectors, Dumbs!….. I suppose it means “dumps” some Printers, Copiers, Faxes and GSM phones! If you got Norton, I would say its safe now! Have a safe look here:
  15. Hi Doc, As I pointed out earlier; the only way this could occur is if someone else is using Your IP-address! Then when you go there, the limit is already reached! :(
  16. Hi, I think you should look at an IGBT inverter bridge for this. Perhaps it is possible with mosfets too but common thyristors should be avoided I believe. This can be controlled by a 12-puls system, much like the second half of a 3-phase motor AC-drive. It will not produce perfect sine wave but close enough. If you need high output power then 12 and 24 Volts system should be avoided, the currents will be troublesome to control.
  17. I am not using my own computer right now. After browsing the manuals for a few minutes the virtual memory ran out since 69 popup windows where opened in the background! Kaspersky antivirus warned about Trojans (cursor type) and I tried to shut down the widows in group but it took several minutes to get it done! But thank you for cleaning it up! I am now back with my own computer!
  18. [glow=red,2,300]Have a good one Rhonn![/glow] ;D
  19. Wow, never seen that many popups and trojans in one place!!!
  20. Hi Bob, Lets hope the software you sent him didn’t contain any viruses that caused his computer to crash! ;D ;D
  21. Hi jemina, Welcome to our forum. The AD149 is really old, save it as an antique. ;) I built my first bench PSU using an AD149 about 35 years ago! ;D Here are some data for the AD149: Description = Ge PNP Power BJT V(BR)CEO (V) = 30 V(BR)CBO (V) = 50 I© Abs.(A) Collector Current = 3.5 Absolute Max. Power Diss. (W) = 22 I(CBO) Max. (A) = 350u h(FE) Min. Static Current Gain = 30 h(FE) Max. Current gain. = 100 @I© (A) (Test Condition) = 1.0 @V(CE) (V) (Test Condition) = 1.0 f(T) Min. 22. Great news! Thanks SM2GXN! ;D
  23. Oh, I know a lot about the Philippines! Many Swedes go there on vacation (not me, at least not yet) and say nice things about it and its friendly people! And I know a few guys living there too… like Rhonn whose birthday (33) is on Tuesday! ;D Yes, SM2GXN how’s it going whit the snail mail?? 8)
